BCL11B
Overview
BCL11B (B-cell CLL/lymphoma 11B) is a transcription factor with roles in T-cell development and neural differentiation. In cancer genomics it has emerged as a candidate marker in Ewing sarcoma, where its expression is linked to the neural/endothelial features of the disease.
Alterations observed in the corpus
- Newly nominated Ewing sarcoma-specific marker from spatial transcriptomics of experimental EWS::FLI1-driven tumors; previously linked to neural/endothelial features of Ewing; proposed as a discriminating biomarker (DepMap overexpression, positive IHC in experimental tumors, negative in normal thymus, spleen, and liver) PMID:25186949
Cancer types (linked)
- Ewing sarcoma: candidate marker induced in the EWS::FLI1 cell-of-origin model PMID:25186949
