COL4A1

Overview

COL4A1 encodes the alpha1 chain of type IV collagen, a major component of basement membranes. In cancer, COL4A1 is expressed in desmoplastic stroma and activated CAFs.

• Expression positively correlated with stromal SEMA7A in GBC tissues; also listed as a CAF activation marker upregulated under 16 kPa high-stiffness matrix in primary gallbladder fibroblasts PMID:24997986
