CRACDL
Overview
CRACDL (also referred to in the literature by its previous designation KIAA1211) is a gene of currently unclear biological function. It emerged as a significantly mutated gene in small cell lung cancer (SCLC) whole-genome sequencing, but its role in cancer pathogenesis has not been functionally characterized.
Alterations observed in the corpus
- Significantly mutated gene in SCLC (110-tumour WGS cohort); biological function described as “much less clear” by authors; functional experiments required to establish role PMID:26168399
Cancer types (linked)
- SCLC: Identified as significantly mutated in a 110-tumour whole-genome sequencing cohort PMID:26168399
Co-occurrence and mutual exclusivity
Therapeutic relevance
Open questions
- Functional role in SCLC and cancer biology is unknown; authors explicitly note that experiments will be required to clarify its significance PMID:26168399
