GSE1
Overview
GSE1 (Gse1 Coiled-Coil Protein) encodes a component of the LSD1-containing CoREST/NuRD histone-deacetylase repressor complexes. In cancer genomics, GSE1 is identified as a recurrently altered candidate driver in medulloblastoma across molecular subgroups.
Alterations observed in the corpus
- Listed among additional recurrently altered candidate driver genes stratified across subgroups in medulloblastoma in the ICGC/MAGIC 491-tumor whole-genome sequencing cohort, identified in Figs 2-3 oncoprints PMID:28726821.

Co-occurrence and mutual exclusivity
- No specific co-occurrence or mutual exclusivity data reported in the corpus to date.
Therapeutic relevance
- No direct therapeutic targets reported in the corpus to date.
Open questions
- Subgroup specificity, functional role, and frequency of GSE1 alterations in medulloblastoma subgroups require further characterization.
