KDM4C
Overview
KDM4C (lysine demethylase 4C) is a histone H3K9/H3K36 demethylase involved in transcriptional regulation and chromatin remodeling. It is recurrently mutated or amplified in several cancer types including prostate cancer.
Alterations observed in the corpus
- Chromatin-modifier mutation identified in MSK prostate cancer cell lines, consistent with Grasso 2012 CRPC findings PMID:25201530
- Focal chromosome-9 deletion removing the promoter/5′ end; statistically significant in ampullary adenocarcinoma (AMPAC); deletion lowered expression of both KDM4C and upstream UHRF2; KDM4C complexes with β-catenin, implicating WNT pathway interaction PMID:26804919
