PRPH
Overview
PRPH (Peripherin) encodes an intermediate filament protein expressed in neurons of the peripheral nervous system. It is used as a marker of peripheral neuronal differentiation and is relevant to neuroblastoma biology as part of the sympathoadrenal lineage gene expression programs.
Alterations observed in the corpus
- PRPH is among the genes characterizing neuroblastoma tumor populations in a single-nuclei RNA-seq study of 11 neuroblastoma tumors spanning different INRG risk groups and INSS stages (Smart-Seq2, 3,212 high-quality nuclei). PMID:34493726
Cancer types (linked)
- NBL — detected in neuroblastoma single-nuclei transcriptomic dataset as part of the neuronal/sympathoadrenal gene expression landscape. PMID:34493726
Co-occurrence and mutual exclusivity
- Not specifically reported in the corpus.
Therapeutic relevance
- No direct targeted therapy is reported in the corpus.
Open questions
- Specific cluster distribution and prognostic role of PRPH in neuroblastoma were not explicitly detailed in the published analysis. PMID:34493726
