RBM10

Overview

RBM10 (RNA Binding Motif Protein 10) is an RNA-binding protein that regulates alternative splicing. It was identified as a novel significantly mutated gene in lung adenocarcinoma, with recurrent truncating mutations suggesting a tumor suppressor role. Its precise mechanism of oncogenesis remains under investigation.

  • Newly nominated as a significantly mutated gene in colorectal carcinoma (619-case WES cohort); RNA splicing factor; RBM10 mutations previously linked to lung ADC (TCGA 2014) and pancreatic adenocarcinoma. Classified among RNA-processing CRC drivers. PMID:27149842
  • Identified as a significantly mutated gene exclusively in lung ADC vs other TCGA tumor types (q < 0.1) in the 1,144-tumor NSCLC landscape study (660 lung ADC, 484 lung SqCC). PMID:27158780
