Consensus Molecular Subtype (CMS) classifier

Overview

Transcriptome-based classifier assigning colorectal tumors to one of four Consensus Molecular Subtypes (CMS1–4).

Used by

  • PMID:37202560 — used as a comparator in the AC-ICAM colon cancer atlas; the 20-gene ICR signature outperformed CMS and MSI classifications for prognosis and retained prognostic value within the otherwise heterogeneous CMS4/mesenchymal subtype PMID:37202560.

Notes

  • NK and T cell subset abundances were highest in ICR-high tumors across all CMS subtypes, indicating ICR captures immune signal orthogonal to CMS PMID:37202560.
