10x Visium HD

Overview

10x Genomics Visium HD is a high-definition spatial transcriptomics platform that captures full-transcriptome gene expression at sub-cellular resolution across tissue sections. It extends the original Visium platform with smaller capture bins (8 µm), enabling higher spatial resolution profiling of the tumor microenvironment and tissue architecture without sacrificing transcriptomic depth.

Used by

  • PMID:41941260 — Visium HD was applied to 140+ biopsies from the ImmunoRad MCT1 rectal-cancer trial (NCT05943210); spatial transcriptomics identified RT-associated spatial reorganization of lymphocytes and altered macrophage wound-healing signals following short-course radiotherapy (SCRT) PMID:41941260.

Notes

  • Corpus-grown slug; not present in canonical ontology.
  • In the ROBIN consortium, Visium HD is deployed by the ImmunoRad center (Weill Cornell + collaborating institutions) to spatially map the rectal-cancer TME before and after RT.
  • Paired with 10x Xenium for complementary single-cell spatial resolution in the same tissue samples.
