Neomycin
Overview
Neomycin is an aminoglycoside antibiotic used orally to reduce gut bacterial load. In the context of cholangiocarcinoma (CHOL), oral neomycin has been evaluated as a microbiota-modulating adjuvant, with proposed benefit through blocking the CXCL1–PMN-MDSC axis driven by TLR4 signaling.
Evidence in the corpus
- Oral neomycin blocks the TLR4-driven CXCL1–PMN-MDSC axis in CCA preclinical models, reducing immunosuppressive myeloid-derived suppressor cell recruitment to the tumor microenvironment PMID:25608663
