GATA4
Overview
GATA4 is a zinc-finger transcription factor of the GATA family with roles in cardiac and gastrointestinal development. In cancer, GATA4 is recurrently amplified in chromosomally unstable (CIN) gastric adenocarcinoma and in other gastrointestinal malignancies, where it may act as a lineage-specific oncogene.

- Amplified in esophageal adenocarcinoma (EAC) in the TCGA multi-platform characterization; co-amplified with VEGFA and GATA6 as EAC-enriched events PMID:28052061.
