GATA6
Overview
GATA6 is a zinc-finger transcription factor of the GATA family involved in gastrointestinal development and differentiation. In cancer, GATA6 is recurrently focally amplified in chromosomally unstable (CIN) gastric adenocarcinoma, where it may function as a lineage-specific driver.
Alterations observed in the corpus
- Focal amplification in CIN gastric adenocarcinoma (STAD) tumours (TCGA cohort) PMID:25079317
- Amplified in esophageal adenocarcinoma (EAC) in the TCGA multi-platform characterization; experimentally validated as an EAC driver in prior work cited by the authors; co-amplified with VEGFA and GATA4 PMID:28052061.
