MYO6
Overview
MYO6 encodes an unconventional myosin motor protein that moves toward the minus (pointed) end of actin filaments — unique among myosins. It participates in endocytosis, vesicle trafficking, and Golgi complex organization. In cancer, MYO6 has been identified as a rare recurrent fusion partner with NFIB on chromosome 6q in adenoid cystic carcinoma (ACC).
