NKX2-1
Overview
NKX2-1 (TTF1) is a lineage-defining transcription factor in lung adenocarcinoma. In the corpus it is altered in metastatic LUAD contexts.
Alterations observed in the corpus
- Among genes altered more often in LUAD metastases than matched primaries in the 2,532-specimen MSK metastatic organotropism cohort PMID:37084736.
- Enriched in both brain metastases and extracranial metastases of LUAD relative to non-metastatic primaries PMID:37591896.
- Appears in volcano plots of metastasis-association analyses in the MSK-CHORD pan-cancer real-world cohort (n=52,211) as an additional gene with LUAD metastatic associations. PMID:39506116
- NKX2-1 (TTF-1) amplification identified as a lineage-specific oncogene in lung adenocarcinoma (Broad WES, 183 tumors) PMID:22980975
- NKX2-1 significant focal amplification identified as a GISTIC peak in LUAD (TCGA, n=230) PMID:25079552
- NKX2-1 (TTF-1) somatic alterations observed in pan-lung cancer TCGA analysis (n=1144) in lung adenocarcinoma PMID:27158780
- NKX2-1 identified as a recurrent focal amplification target in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) PMID:28052061
