XPO4
Overview
XPO4 (Exportin 4) is a nuclear export receptor involved in RNA processing and export, responsible for nuclear export of specific cargo including eIF5A. Mutations in XPO4 were identified in a 538-patient CLL WES study as part of a functional cluster of RNA processing and export drivers in CLL.
Alterations observed in the corpus
- Identified as a novel RNA processing and export driver in CLL in a 538-patient WES study (CLL8 trial cohort); functionally clustered with EWSR1 and NXF1 PMID:26466571
Cancer types (linked)
- CLLSLL — Novel RNA processing/export driver; identified alongside EWSR1 and NXF1 as a functional cluster disrupting RNA handling in CLL PMID:26466571
Co-occurrence and mutual exclusivity
- Co-reported with EWSR1 and NXF1 as a group of RNA processing and export drivers in CLL PMID:26466571
Therapeutic relevance
- No direct therapeutic implications reported; RNA export pathway disruption may have synthetic lethal opportunities PMID:26466571
Open questions
- Specific functional impact of XPO4 mutations on RNA export and CLL biology requires experimental characterization PMID:26466571
