LRP2
Overview
LRP2 (Low Density Lipoprotein Receptor-Related Protein 2, also known as Megalin) encodes a large endocytic receptor involved in receptor-mediated endocytosis. In HCC, LRP2 is involved in the first recurrent gene fusion reported in that cancer type.
Alterations observed in the corpus
- LRP2 is the 3’ partner in the ABCB11–LRP2 gene fusion, reported as the first recurrent gene fusion in HCC PMID:24735922
- Newly nominated significantly mutated gene in papillary renal cell carcinoma (pRCC) in a multisubtype nccRCC WES study PMID:25401301
- LRP2 identified as part of Hedgehog-pathway alterations (alongside SMO, GLI2, GLI3, PTCH1) in a 109-case PDA WES cohort PMID:25855536
