TYK2

Overview

TYK2 (Tyrosine Kinase 2) is a member of the JAK family of non-receptor tyrosine kinases involved in cytokine signaling, particularly type I interferon and IL-12 pathways. In invasive lobular carcinoma (ILC), TYK2 expression was identified as a marker of the immune-related mRNA subtype in a TCGA/METABRIC integrated genomic analysis.

Therapeutic relevance

  • TYK2 expression in the immune-related ILC subtype may indicate relevance of cytokine/JAK-STAT pathway modulation; no specific drug claims reported PMID:26451490

Open questions

  • Whether TYK2 expression in immune-related ILC predicts benefit from immunotherapy or JAK inhibitors requires prospective investigation PMID:26451490
