IFNG
Overview
IFNG encodes interferon gamma, the defining Th1 cytokine that drives anti-tumor immunity and MHC upregulation.
Alterations observed in the corpus
- Th1-signaling component of the 20-gene ICR signature used to stratify colon cancer immune subtypes in the AC-ICAM cohort PMID:37202560.
- Marker of the immune-related ILC mRNA subtype identified in a comprehensive molecular portrait of invasive lobular breast cancer (n=127 ILC TCGA + n=106 LumA ILC) PMID:26451490
- No significant differential expression between anti-PD-1 responders vs non-responders in whole-tumor transcriptome analysis of pretreatment melanoma biopsies; bulk RNA-seq may dilute immune-cell-specific interferon-gamma signal PMID:26997480
