CCL5
Overview
CCL5 (RANTES) is a CCR5 ligand chemokine that recruits effector T cells and is a core component of tumor immune infiltration signatures.
Alterations observed in the corpus
- CCL5 is one of the 20 genes in the Immunologic Constant of Rejection (ICR) signature applied to the 348-patient Sidra-LUMC AC-ICAM colon cancer cohort, grouped with the CXCR3/CCR5 chemokine ligands CXCL9 and CXCL10 PMID:37202560.
Cancer types (linked)
- Colon adenocarcinoma — CCL5 contributes to ICR-based consensus clustering that segregates ICR-high, -medium, and -low tumors with distinct overall survival PMID:37202560.
Co-occurrence and mutual exclusivity
Therapeutic relevance
- No direct CCL5-targeting therapy is evaluated; the ICR module as a whole is proposed as a prognostic and potentially predictive biomarker PMID:37202560.
Open questions
- The paper treats CCL5 as a module component rather than a standalone biomarker; independent contribution is not dissected PMID:37202560.
