ITPKB
Overview
ITPKB encodes inositol-trisphosphate 3-kinase B. It is a recurrent driver in classic Hodgkin lymphoma HRS cells.
Alterations observed in the corpus
- Mutated in 28% of cHL cases; tended to carry more than one nonsynonymous mutation per case PMID:36723991.
- Elevated noncoding:coding mutation ratio consistent with AID off-target activity PMID:36723991.
- Novel CLL driver candidate involved in B cell receptor signaling; mutations identified in CLL WES of 160 tumors (Broad) PMID:23415222
Cancer types (linked)
- CHL — recurrent driver in FACS-purified HRS cells across WGS+WES cohort (n=61) PMID:36723991.
Co-occurrence and mutual exclusivity
- Grouped with BCL7A, SOCS1, TMSB4X, and IL4R as genes with elevated noncoding:coding mutation ratios PMID:36723991.
Therapeutic relevance
- None reported.
Open questions
- Functional consequence of multi-hit and noncoding ITPKB lesions in cHL remains to be characterized PMID:36723991.
